I believe that the change from 2.5 to 2.25 is a product of the rack limiters (http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/LRS-3504HDW/79-04-Mustang-Steering-Rack-Limiter-6-Pack), not the actual rack. The only Fox Mustang options from the factory were the 15:1 (2.5 turns) "sport rack" and the ...

I had a problem like this when I replaced my steering rack. Ultimately, I wrapped a chain around the shaft and pulled while my Dad beat the hell out of it with a hammer and that got it to move. Whaling on it with a hammer alone just couldn't quite get enough power to move it, especially since you ha...
