Dynomax Ultra Flow Catback

Post by laz2447 »

I searched and see a few people here are running it on their 93's.

Anyone care to post a sound clip? I have changed my set-up and this catback has really peaked my interest.

Also, what all had to be fabbed up to make this work since the kit is for the LX?

Thanks!

Laz, I think drkhrse has Dynomax on his Cobra. Sounds like Magnflow, I think. It sounds good.

Most catbacks listed for the LX are also for the Cobra because of the angled bumper and bumper cutouts. Basically it wont fit the GT cause of the turndowns they have.

Yea Ceet, the tips were a given. I saw that he and another person I talked too needed longer hangers?

Do you have a clip of your Magnaflow on your car mostly stock? I am not a big fan of any tips bigger than 2.5" on our cars, but I might consider it as well! Any pics of it from the rear would be great too...

Ceet, I found one of your videos on you tube. So I got an idea of the sound but any pictures you have of the car from the rear would be great!

Yes, I have a DynoMax ultra flow cat back, LX kit. just get longer hangers (or make them longer) and it works great. I think it is a bit on the quiet side, ceetwarrior's magnaflows are louder at low r's. the Dymomax do make for a nice road trip though, at low r's they just purrr. I'll post a sound clip soon.

I've got the Dynomax Ultraflow stainless catback on mine too. The mufflers have polished stainless cans. I used Chevy pickup rubber hangars, they look close to the Ford hangars except they are just the right length to make the LX pipes clear the Cobra bumper cover. My engine has a blower, a cam, and aluminum heads so they may not sound exactly like they would on a stocker, but they are nice and mellow, not too loud, and with very, very little of the cursed 2K RPM drone that most systems are famous for.

Keep in mind the Ultraflow Welded (previously known as Race Magnum) is a different muffler than the "standard" Ultraflow.

Laz I love my Magnalow, its very throaty and also doesn't have a lot of that 2k drone. The Magnaflow is def one of the highest quality kits I have seen especially for the money! Full stainless steel all the way. POLISHED muffs, nice quality clamps, and lots of extra hangers that most kits don't come with.

It was pretty quiet when I had the stock H-pipe! And it sounded good after and O/R but when I got the blower it got LOUD. I ended up switching from a O/R H to a O/R X and it quieted it down. I think it sounds better in person than on a video.

My first baseline dyno video has a sound clip of it.

kbillan, Duda has Mac on his Cobra, but it sounds NOTHING like stock, hehe.
