If you go with new leather from TMI. I would recomend that you also replace the cushion also. If you don't, the leather will look kinda loose fitted.
Here is a couple pics of the old cushion and the seat after Joe's completed the job. Just for replacement of the cushion it was like $95. Not bad I thought. I think should be about the same kinda $'s for you....cause he had to take the Black Tweed Cover off and put it back on for me. It would about the same work for you to replace the cover and the cushion.

Here it is back in the car.

I disagree to a point, If your original Foams are in good shape, reuse them. I did on my black car and they looked great. They where a Little loose, and I mean a little, but once they sat in the sun a few days they pulled tight.
I used an aftermarket foam in my white cars driver seat, and I do not like it at all. Bottom is way to hard, and the upper half is Flat at the top of the seat cover, so the cover looks bad on the aftermarket foam. If you built up the foam to make it round at the top, below the headrest it would be ok I think. Just my 02.

if the foam is torn a good ulpholstery shop can replace a section of the original foam and add a 1/4 inch layer over all of it , which will make the new covers fit better. Also they can add a layer of very thin carpet or a piece vinyl to the bottom of the foam where it sits on the springs and wires, if you want a firmer feel.

What is usually the culprit of a driver seat that does the sink way down feel when you sit in it? Id like to get it as firm as the passenger seat or a bit firmer and for as DIY as you can get.

The upholster that did mine...added a couple more springs to the underside of the seat. He also offered to put some kinda of board in there. But, I said NO to that. I really think the springs helped and also with the new foam.cobrasnake93 wrote:What is usually the culprit of a driver seat that does the sink way down feel when you sit in it?
