Damn!! Based on your screen names and posts you own a Lamborghini, brand-new Shelby and a GN, just to name a few. I must confess, even though I'm a Ford guy, I have a soft spot for the Grand National. What a fun car! Do you happen to own the GNX version?

I too am a big GN guy although they are the foxes biggest rival I have always loved them and one is on my bucket list of cars to own, only have 2 left and that's one of them

And if he had a GNX I would probably be calling southwest as I would love to drive one, they made less than 600 of them and its a one year only car like the 93 (1987)

This.

My current favorite build is a $1,000 83 Fairmont, junkyard 5.3, home welded turbo kit, auto, 8.8 and runs high 9s.

I wish it was a GNX, it's a regular 87 and its fully built but not a stage 2 block. It has about 600 rwhp and puts it down! Beats my GT500 :( Shelby put down 730.

Thanks Brian.

It's an '80, 2.3 4cyl/4spd manual, no A/C, manual brakes, '70s-fabulous red plaid interior. 70K miles. A craigslist find for $900. Underpowered, but oddly fun to drive. It's a cool month daily driver in rotation with the other cars.

I'm already on Craigslist looking at them, would love to find one that nice or a mercury zephyr would work too, again love it!

No, but if I had half the car knowledge and fab skills as that guy does, I would easily replicate that build.

Funny these Fairmonts were brought up I was watching the TV show "Fast & Load" and they made a drift car out of one.

Yea those dudes are stupid. Gave $3500 for that car then spent who knows what on it and lost there butts. Thats why these guys on Craigslist are asking stupid prices for stuff now. I do the same stuff to cars that they do but trust me its way cheaper than they put on on that show, or at least it was till people started asking high dollar for there junk now.
