Tapping an oil pan isn't hard, plus the whine of a vortech is music to my ears. Thats one thing I'll miss about my cobra over my 89.

The price was right on a slightly used one is the main reason. Also, I like the idea of not having to cut my oil pan. I guess it lubes itself and doesn't require oil changing which seems cool. And Powerdynes are quiet! We'll see how it goes. But ease of install and price were the main factors.
Excellent! Have fun with her. Just be careful at first and make sure you aren't getting any detonation. If you aren't going to have a full tune done, then at least get it on a dyno and have the air/fuel ratio checked to make sure you aren't going lean. Superchargers are a blast! All my life I have wanted a blown car, and now I finally have one, and I'm lovin it!

I ran 11.89s with a powerdyne :) ...granted, it had nothing left, but still, not bad for a <$2000 blower kit.

Just a side question... Since these kits are built for regular 5.0's, does the fact that Cobras come with a different pulley setup cause problems?

They are actually setup for the Cobra under drive pulley. If you don't have one, then you will have to get one.

...and if it has a FMU, it will be "set up" for the bigger injectors

If it has an FMU, you won't need bigger injectors. The kits are made to run on a completely stock engine.

What I meant was...the FMU in the Cobra kit will have a different 'step-up' ratio because of the 24lb injectors compared to the 'step-up' ratio that would be in a stock 5.0 with 19lb injectors.

I didn't realize the kits were different. The kit I have is for a regular 5.0- so will I have issues?

Go here: http://www.powerdyne.com/fmu.htm

Notice that the fmu for 24# injectors has a rate of 10:1 whereas the fmu for 19# injectors is 12:1. You really should call Powerdyne and ask them to be sure exactly what fmu you have. If you do actually have the 12:1 unit, all this means is you'll get even more fuel pressure while in boost which will make the mixture a little fatter than it would be than if you had the 10:1 unit. I believe if you have the 12:1 unit, you can simply buy a different disc that goes in the fmu to make it a 10:1 unit.

Also, now, it's been a while so again, double check this with powerdyne, the crank pulleys are different sizes (compared to a non-cobra 5.0) to account for the 'underdrive' water pump pulley on the cobra.

I would have to agree that tapping into a stock Cobra Oil pan would not desired. Im sure most of want to make modifications that are "reversable"

 That'll do it. Similar thing happened to me; the socket for the SPOUT was going bad and would sometimes not make proper contact. My car felt like a DOG when the happened.

How do you run a KB backwards?

It can only be done in Colorado, and only by Mr. Antiboost!
