I don't know if there is a thread already like this. If so admin please delete. If not well then here we go.
I think it was the end of 94 and in my area me and my g.f. went to the Olive Garden here in the area. The dealership doesn't even exist anymore. It's a Hyundai dealer now. Anyway there was a wait at the Olive Garden, (It's still there) Anyway, we were waiting outside and I heard a mustang start up and some revving. I look across Route 30 and there she is a Vibrant Red beauty. I assume it was a salesman driving it up the front line to the showroom area. At any rate, he mashed the throttle a little on the way there and the way the sun hit the car and the intoxicating sound of a fox body well,....I just will always remember it. For those of us who grew up in that era (FOX BODY) I feel those cars (FOX BODIES) paved the way for the late model Mustang hobby we have today.

I worked at a resturant (horsefeathers) in north conway WAY BACK..i was a prep cook back then... but a cook there owned a teal one with leather.. and i fell in love with it! and i also remember back in 94 i saw one at a car show at Bonnie eagle (standish maine), and i was with my grandfather, and he pointed to it, and said "Dj this is the new 93 cobra!". he loved it, and i really liked it as well. But i remember telling him, Gramp i love your 67 stang more though. (i will never forget that day)
I remember when they were first released and loved them!! Couldn't afford a new Cobra and had a 90GT, black of course.... About five years ago I started hunting for one and finally found a sweet deal and picked up my black and sold my 97 Cobra to make room. I'm still itching to pick up another 93.
I guess when another perfect deal comes around, I might pounce on it.

1993 Black / Black Cobra #3929. V3 with a couple bolt-ons - 63,000 miles and counting....
It was March 1993 ... I was already going nuts about the car from all the articles in the car mags and as soon as I found out my local Ford dealer had one (a Vibrant Red w/black interior they had on display in the middle of the showroom floor) I took my 86 GT to go see it. I still have the Cobra brochure from my visit to the dealer.
Of course, I was very unhappy with the dealer markup on the car and couldn't afford it, so I did the next best thing. I began a search for an '87-'93 GT eventually finding a black '89 and purchased a Cobra bumper and LX tailpipes. I was definitely one of the first of many GT owners that converted their GTs to look more like the Cobra. I still remember how difficult it was to order the Cobra bumper through Ford ... they wanted a Cobra VIN to place the order. Lucky for me, I had a friend in the dealership parts dept.

I remember going to a local dealer (Norris Ford) to have 3:73 gears installed in my recently purchased '92 gt....sometime in early '93. While I was waiting for them install the rear gears. I walked around to the show room and saw my first '93 cobra in person...a teal with grey leather. I asked a salesman if the '93 teal came with black interior, he said "oh yea".
Damn, if I would of only waited 7 more months and what Z28 said......................................

Was wanting a fox body stang ever since my uncle bought his white GT in 91 when I was 14, almost bought a modded 90 GT in the military, started surfing the web for local fox bodies and stumbled across a picture of a 93 cobra then I fell in love, didn't see one in person til about 4 years ago, and finally last year bought my first cobra, still loving it, viva 93 cobra!!
You all are such a bunch of old men! Seeing them new back in 1993.
My best friend owned a 94 Cobra back when we were in high school. (1999) I had a 1988 4 cylinder convertible my father had given me because it was absolute shit and the transmission had gone out for the FINAL time on him. I used to love going into my friends Cobra and I was always really good at egging him on to race other cars. VERY GOOD actually... lol... After all, my Mustang convertible never had anywhere close to that kind of power, so what other choice did I have?
Well one day we were driving down a local 4 lane road and a Vibrant Red 93 pulls up with a 3 inch cowl induction hood. Of course I looked at my friend and smiled... He knew... lol... There was rush hour traffic and everyone was going a steady 45 mph with about 3 car lengths between each car. The red 93 takes off like a bat out of hell, and so did my friend. We weaved in and out of traffic for about a mile doing some REALLY STUPID SHIT. (Now that I think about it... lol) But needless to say my love for fox bodies was already there from my father and after seeing that in combination of my friend having a Cobra. I knew it was the car I always wanted.

It was Xmas break 94. Cold out. Picked my girlfriend up who is now my wife
Driving down 9th street in temple tx. Boom. There it was parked on the side of the road, black cobra,
Wipped it Around to check it out again. That was it I had to have one. June 18 1995 I saw my second one, teal that I still own. My 18th birthday was the 14th. Had to work my ass off to afford that car. Insurance was hell. My mom was pissed I had To keep living with her to pay for a car.
Within the first week that they hit the showrooms. Bought mine a couple of months later when the 2-3K dealer markup nonsense vanished, and they were listening to offers.
They were a rare site in my area, I didn't see one until 98, vibrant red/gray leather chromed stock wheels and some go fast goodies, there was also another Red/black that an older gentleman drove he was probably the orig owner.
First time laid my eyes on a '93 Cobra was around the fall of 1994. I was at work, delivering the mail when I spotted a black one parked in the parking lot of a local business. It was there everyday so I guess it was owned by an employee of the business. I drooled over it everyday!! I kept thinking how lucky that guy was.
I bought my first one about a year later.

Did you buy it brand new? Whats the story about it being stolen?
