I feel bad for him hopefully he can rectify the situation though I think that's really dirty whoever did that :nono:

But I guess that's why they say buyer beware and always, always, do your homework or join a club of enthusiast before you pull the trigger :ak47: and that will avoid the

I feel bad for the OP too, I hope he gets money back or cancels the deal. It looks like it's a legit cobra (provided he can find the vin tags in a bunch of places) and aside from a few issues pointed out looks very nice, but you have to wonder why the aftermarket taillights, missing engine emblem, snakes in wrong spot etc. I'd guess an accident and repaint. Mileage also seems suspect. Not the end of the world if it was properly advertised, it seems this may not have been. Wish OP luck in dealing with it. Hope he can still enjoy the car if that's how things end up.

Just reading this I learned a few things and or was reminded of a few thing to check:

Carfax,autocheck report
Oem Taillights have pin stripes where 2nd from bottom doesn't wrap fully around
Snakes should not be too high on fender (driver side faces backwards)
Black antenna
Vin tags on fenders and rear panels in hatch
Mustang in white letters on rear quarter windows
93 cobra did not come with factory cruise control

Am I missing other things to check?

I do to the fronts look like aftermarket on stock hubs and the rears look like they sit flush like aftermarket.

I agree with you guys those are aftermarket rims, at this point I am thinking it could have been theft recovery. They more than likely stole all the rims/tires, popped out the quarter windows and who knows what else maybe they hit something and it needed some paint.

Few more items, antenna base is huge chrome, so that's just not the antenna. Something is up with the exhaust tips ( looks like gt style), and the black pull shade is missing.

Whew where to begin. Sorry we work 12 hour shifts and due to the snow storm I have been at working non stop. Im not crying at all. I am pretty happy to own a 93' Cobra I have always loved em and think they are fun to drive.

I do not know Duffy. I found the Duffy add for my car on SVTperformance by coincidence. I know its my car due to the rub mark on the drivers seat. Honestly I was led to believe the car was stock and I think my friend thought it was as well. I still need to get with him to see what happened, more so to make sure he is not getting the run around. I got the car for a real good price. I think it still looks really good. Im still excited to own one. It runs awesome (verified by my mechanic). So im really not to worried. I planed on keeping it for ever so, no change of plans.

Actually. I was torn as to drive it or not. Now I can meet up with Vinchez and not worry about it as much as I would have. Though it may not be a "show car" it is still in really good shape. I learned some lessons though for sure and life is about learning so mission accomplished. Good thing is there is no way I lost money on the deal. With all that said I think im gunna take her for a spin, its finally sunny out.

Side note: How much you think it is worth?

As long as you are happy with it that is all that matters. It is still a nice red/black car. If you never plan on selling then it is worth what you paid. These cars are going up everyday. Fix the things we have pointed out and its still a 13-15k car.

Good for you OP, like I said it's still a beautiful car and looks fantastic. If you're at peace with what you paid then you're good. Only thing I might work on, and it might not be easy is finding rear quarters that say Mustang, but finding a set in good shape might be tough. Enjoy the car!

Well said, MCG! There's no reason you shouldn't enjoy your Cobra, especially if it's mechanically sound and you got it a good price. And as an added bonus, you now know a lot more about stock Cobras than you did before. :headbang:

BTW, take it from me -- stock is certainly nice, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with a modded Cobra! Happy motoring!
