Fox it's all good, was surprised you questioned the insurance thing. But honestly I think I asked that 3 years ago... Lol

Yeah I mean I've never owned a car that was more than a few years old so I've always done the traditional bank financing and auto insurance route. I guess i never thought about special insurance that insures for more than the book but it makes sense. Back when I had mine insuring a red 5.0 for a 18 year old high school male was a small fortune.

Anyway that's why I'm so inquisitive about the process of buying because I know how rare these particular cars are and when I go shopping I'm likely to have go way far away from MA to find one that fits my budget and need. I sneaky hope you still have yours Dbrennan, did you complete the sale yet?

The best part about classic car insurance is that you can get an agreed value policy for only several hundred $$ a year.

Aren't you an ex-Ranger, Vin? You don't need some expensive security system. Just put a sticker on your Cobra that says "Owned by former U.S. Army Ranger. Proceed at your own risk!!"

I'll chime in
had an alarm on it but it had to go because it was not factory,

most if they hear an alarm with just yell "turn it down" and go about their business anyway

Keep it in the garage,
locked if in the lot at the golf course
Never ever take it to a "Mall"!

and I've got it insure for $35,000.00 thru Hangerty which is about $250 a year!

if they take it they better take it like flight 370!

I have a TwEECer four position switch chip. On position four, I made a tune that will only fire every other cylinder. It will act like it runs, but not really. :-D

My cobra is not running in the middle of a build and hurt my back so it's on hold. But I have classic car insurance on my wife's two 300zx turbos and it's a good deal. Name your own insurance value. We had a hail storm Friday and the 85 in "not so good" shape got totaled. I'm cool with that! The 84 in perfect shape was in the Garage with the cobra. 2013 f150 smashed. Living where we live I don't have to worry about theft. Small enough town everyone would know and the rare cares. Bought the cobra a few days after 18th bday. As stated in earlier post it was a small if not large fortune to insure.
