Put on a Bassani x-pipe w/cats to get rid of the offroad h-pipe that was on there. I'd been debating back and forth of whether to put the factory exhaust back on. But i'm not sure. I like the performance and the sound of a nice aftermarket exhaust. So i'll wait on the stock stuff for now.
The car sounds great now! Not too loud and you don't smell like gas and exhaust fumes anymore! lol

Good choice man. Stock is nice but not agressive at all.

Did your cars have exhaust leaks or bad connections somewhere? I've been driving Mustangs with off-road H pipes for years and never had a problem with gas/exhaust fumes.

Nope. You must be immune to it. Because ALL cars with no cats have that smell.

X2!
Even my '03 has the same smell with no cats.
Just walking around the car when it's idling the smell clings to your clothing.

Maybe coming out of the tailpipes, but not all over the driver or passengers. Regardless of what's coming out of your exhaust system, if the system is working properly, you shouldn't smell like fumes after driving your car.

I'm certainly not immune to the smell of gas/exhaust fumes. Also, my wife, countless friends, etc. that rode in my Mustangs over the years never complained of and smelled like gas/exhaust fumes after riding in the cars.

Maybe you just stood too long behind your car while it sat idling listening to the sweet sound of the V8?

Can't take your advice on this one. This is certainly not the most environmentally sound viewpoint, but there's a major difference in sound/performance in driving a Mustang without cats as opposed to with cats. I most definitely favor the car w/o cats.

There are cheaper H-pipes that don't seal as well, especially the 2-piece designs. That may cause more of an exhaust fume smell than the others. Nope, nothing like a Mustang with an H-pipe and Flowmasters. Hell, my wife recognizes the sound a mile away. 8)
