I highly agree with that. It's really cool to see Aaron bring these cobras back to life...like new!

My Garage at my House. I have a 1200 SQ foot Garage behind the house, I use 2 Fans in the Window, and wet the Floor good, I get some trash, and my Lighting is not the best, but I wet sand and Buff all my Paint Jobs, so not a big issue. I have been doing paint and body work for about 23 years. I do ok, but By no means a Pro!

Aaron, what are your thoughts on blending.
If you only had to repaint the front bumper and hood of a car due to some fade and rock chips. Would you just paint those two parts and try to get as close as possible match...or would you BLEND into the ORGINAL paint on the fenders in witch are in really good condtion.
I guess what Im asking is......lease amount of paint work on these cars is the way to go,,,,or getting a really good match with blending the newly painted parts with the rest of the car.

The bumper covers dont match 100% anyways so it wouldnt make much difference and Id just blend on the front of the hood if you are just repairing chips on it.

We'll I'd say the results look pretty good for a home garage job. Good Job!
I'm going through the same thing now with the red 93 i'm restoring. However, i'm in the beginning stages of the restore. I'm first going to strip the interior, fix the minor right rear quarter damage and fix the mechanicals.
How did you remove the side urthane side trim w/o damage and curling?

Brett I agree with speedfreek, just paint the bumpers and get them close and blend the hood to the fenders a bit!! Hope it turns out good!

It all epends on the car, I can tell you this. My last 2 93R's Had lots of Paint chips in the hood. Quick fix to that is Fill in the chips with Base coat, Make sure you fill in each chip two or three times, let Each one Dry a few hours between touch up, once the third touch up has dried. Use 2000 Grit paper to sand the touch up spots smooth. Then run a buffer over the front of the hood. I did this to both R's, you could not even tell it had any chips unless you really knew what you where looking for..
For the Front cover, On red cars, the Front covers are not Base Clear, They are single stage. Not sure why ford did this, but this is only on red cars. Both teal and black cars had clear on the front covers. So I am with speed, it didn't match when new, so a slight color difference in shade on the cover is not a big deal.
If you can touch it up, do so, try not to repaint unless really needed. They are only original once, I prefer Chips that where touched up over repaint anyday. Just my oinion is all.

Thanks guys for the opinons, idea and thoughts. Im going to keep the paint work to a bare minimum.
I have one painter says he can take a Picture of the paint and send it to a auto paint company that will match the paint best a possiable.
First of heard of this....not sure on how a picture will give the best match result. But sound interesting.
