My cars DOB is 6/25/93 and 7/29/93 is written in black marker under the hood. This weekend I removed the glove box and found 8/6/93 written with yellow marker on the back.
I doubt it took that long to build…any thoughts.

build date is 6/25/93 and the 7/29/93 the date it arrived at the dealer and they prepped it, as for the glove box make sure its not a 3/6/93 or 8/6/92 or maybe it was changed at some point

2 and 3 tier vendors supply a lot of parts for cars, and many dates you find on parts and whatnot are from them. With the date on the glovebox being almost two months after the build date, it's possible you have a glove that was changed out for some reason like was mentioned.
I guess I never really thought about it, but I wonder what the build date refers to. The day the VIN was assigned in metal shop, or the day it rolled off the line. I've always assumed the latter.

I saw a show on people ordering Grand Sport vettes back in the day and the build date was given to the owner to come watch the process start so I always though it was referring to the day either the vin was assigned or the date the car started on the assembly line

i believe the build date is the day it was completed , because it is stamped on the radiator support on the left side over the paint

My car has 6/25 stamped on the radiator support….are you sure about the car being at the dealer 7/29?
The glove box is very clear on the 8/6/93…might have been written by a non-American worker at the plant and it was 6/8/93
