I am wanting peoples opinions on if I am paying a fair price for a Black 93 cobra that I plan on picking up on Monday...The car is number 2002, it is a two owner car. It has 48000 miles,no sunroof, gray cloth interior. The only mods are a flowmaster cat back exhaust and a pro 5.0 shifter. It has also had the tranny replaced with a new one from Ford at aprox 40000 miles. I am paying 12K for it..I looked this car up on NADA and retail is 7K..Is NADA crazy? or am I for paying this much?Either way I have the cash and Im picking the car up tomorrow...Thanks for your advice and opinions on this..

$12k sounds about right for what you are describing, don't go by anyof the price guides like nada or kbb they don't take into account the rareness or collectibility, look through the classifieds on here and you can get a good gauge on what they go for but it sounds like you are right on the money

NADA sucks for our cars. They list a limited 93 convert as a higher price. 12K sounds like a pretty good price fo wha you have listed.

Thanks for the fast replies!! I am also wondering what type of insurance are people putting on these cars? collector car with agreed values, or just regular full coverage?..wouldn't most insurance company's only pay what book value is, even though these cars sell for more than book.. can somebody recommend a good collector car insurance company to go with? Thanks Again!!!!

NADA exists so dealers can gouge people on trades. It has no actual basis in reality.

Price sounds about right, assuming it's been well cared for.
Insurance depends on how you are going to drive. I have agreed value collector car insurance on my cars. Costs about $400 ayear for the two cars.

I have mine insured through Hagerdy for 17k, guaranteed. It is collectors insurance and has restrictions that other insurance companies don't impose. But this isn't my daily driver. I've only put 5 "pleasure" miles on the car since I bought it in June.

The price is fair for that Cobra, look into Grundy insurance as well, they are a collectors insurance co.

sounds like a great deal! has it been repainted? is it mint show car? or driver? anything need replacement/ or faded? etc. pics and details more about the car will better describe the 12K. sounds good.

Im picking the car up today at 5 pm I will try to post some pics of it tomorrow..as far as condition goes it still has all of the original paint on it and all vin stickers are still intact. The hood and front bumper cover have the normal rock chips on them that any 48k mile car would have, although they are not quite bad enough to render a repaint yet..I would consider this car as a driver that's clean enough to win a local car show. The interior is an easy 9 out of 10 condition..This car comes with all the stock parts and factory floor mats and SVT certificate and original window sticker..under hood is very clean but the battery has been replaced with an Oriellys cheap replacement..I will have to get a Ford battery to replace it just to make it look more original..I will post some pics if I can figure out my camera and how to post them up!! Only mod I plan on doing to this car is tint the windows and a good wax job..
