The Next 20 Starts Today

It's official, I've now owned my 93 for 20 years.

Inside the dealers service area at time of delivery, outside there was 14 inches of snow and it was still snowing. Yes, this was my daily driver for the first 2 years. Boy those early days were lots of fun. Now the car sits covered in the garage. I drive only a couple hundred miles a year now. And wonder will it ever be as much fun to drive again, as it was so many years ago.

WOW, congrats, reminded me of when I pick up my '92 gt a little 20 year's ago. What a moment, one of the best feelings ever! I took delivery of my '92 just after it got detailed also.

Agreed. I don't know how you got yourself to drive a brand new Cobra out into a snowstorm. Just thinking about that makes me cringe!

Sounds like it's time to sell.

Forget selling! You want fun to drive? A few choice mods and a supercharger will permanently turn that frown upside down!! :headbang:

Random responses....

Yup, it was time to sell it YEARS ago. But after 20, I think I'd be happier chopping it up and using it as a donor car for a FF kit build. Now, stop freaking out, it's highly unlikely that I would do that. Although I did consider it a few years back. But, selling is always a possibility but since I would ONLY sell it to the next care taker and not someone who would go nuts with it. But I do want it to end up with someone who might keep it for the next 20.

Ya, one of these days we will cross paths. I can't think of the last time I've seen another 93 here in NH. Let alone another red one. But I find zero appeal to car shows. Been there, done that, have the t-shirt is the most fitting statement I have for them. Hell, I say that about track events now too. Nothing unusual, just a shift in interests I guess.

Ya, snow. Why not? These are just cars afterall. And most of us who bought them way back bought them as drivers. This was not my first Mustang nor was it my first that was a winter driver. No big deal but then again, I grew up when everyone drove rear drive V8 powered vehicles.

LOL.... I had the itch for a Vortec many moons ago. Probably should have done one but I was having far too much fun smoking money on track time at a variety of great road courses. That was a big addiction back then and an expensive one.

Yup, it's been a fun 20 years, but I'm really not sure what is next. Hmm, it's supposed to snow tonight here in NH. Maybe I should drive it to work tomorrow..... Thanks for letting me share an interesting milestone with the car.

Cool congrats on sticking it out- not many one owners left. Kinda like finding a 20 year old virgin.

Is that your picture? I saw that one on google images for years always wondered if that was a pic from a dealership in 93?

There are still a hand full of us out there. I can think of about 4 others.

Yup, that's one of a couple photos I took before driving it out into the snow. There are a couple of them posted in the photo section of this site.

Hmm, a 20 year old virgin or not, could be FUN.... But does she have to talk?

svt2205, congrats. Did you already share the mileage? Also how has it been over the years in terms of repairs, etc? Lastly, how bout a pic as she sits today?
