That may be a fix worth doing properly so your Cobra has a functioning air bag if ever needed.

I recently asked in another thread what they were putting in the water in NC. Seeing that TN borders NC, they must be putting the same stuff in your water as well.

Re: Airbag diagnosis codes
This will be helpful for this sticky as well, in the event some of you have never been to this airbag link for 5.0 Fox Mustangs:
http://www.veryuseful.com/mustang/tech/ ... Bag92.html
The link contains tons of wiring diagrams, codes, diagnosis procedures, etc etc etc, specific to air bag related problems.
Hope it helps.

Re: Airbag diagnosis codes
Admin, can you help...or anyone?
Can you please explain the pin 1 and 6 thing for the air bag module? I'm sorry but I'm confused on that. Is that two wires that are in the harness? Is it just one or both? If it is wires, do you know which colors they are? I do appreciate the help.

Re: Airbag diagnosis codes
OK, I've never tried to disable a airbag system, I always repaired them But , the service manual says if your system is dead, no lights or anything, that you have lost voltage to pin 1 and or 6. Do I figure the reverse is true if you want to kill it, you would disconnect pin 1 or 6? OK pin 1 and 6 are wires in the gray connector, the connector has a side with rounded corners and a side with two tabs, on the rounded side , pin 1 is on one end and is red with yellow stripe, pin 6 is on the other end and is also red with yellow stripe. You can try removing pin 1 and see if that does it or just do both, either try to release the wire from the connector, or cut them leaving plenty of room to re-splice at a later date. I would try to remove them not cut. You will have to look close and use a small pick or paper clip to release them.

You can just pop out the bulb if you want to go that route for now, so it quits flashing in your face.Phistry810 wrote:I considered this but not sure how to take the clear lense off the gauge cluster...lol.scootro wrote:just do like my dad does and put a sticker or electrical tape over the light! that fixes it. haha...

Re: Airbag diagnosis codes
If you remove the bulb, you'll get the chirp tones.its actually quite easy to diagnose, and fix.

This is what I'd like to do...I just am not very knowledgable about this plus I don't have a service manual.1993cobra wrote:If you remove the bulb, you'll get the chirp tones.its actually quite easy to diagnose, and fix.
