I dont ask too many questions around here but my car is really thrown me for a loop......

The other night I was driving home from dinner and it dyed on me on the freeway and I had to get towed home..

Well today I got a chance to check it out and I was looking around and found out that the rotor had melted the tip under the cap. So I went and bought a new cap and rotor and replaced it but it still will not start. I have also check the timing ,plug(when I did check them #5 had a little gas on the tip),vacume leaks, and for some strange reason in between trying to start it I put my hand on the grond wire of the battery and it was extreamly hot??

What do you guys think it might be???? I am really lost and any help you can give me would be great..

Thanks
Phillip

If the ground is really hot then there is either a ground issue or the starter solenoid could be a cause for concern. You could also have over heated the wire by many attemps to start the engine.

Does it crank ?

Does it have spark ?

Does it have good fuel pressure

Sounds to me like a ground issue. Like what was said before you may want to check all your grounds. Let us know what you find out. Bryan

I was thinking that when he said he was driving and it stalled on the highway.

The usually restart after they cool down.

I was wanting all the info before I told him that.
