When you guys pull the trim to paint the trim do you replace the clips that hold the trim on? Curious who you guys are getting the clips from and if they are any good at holding the trim tight once replaced. I just pulled all my trim and some of the clips took a beating so I would think it's best to replace them. LMR has the long clips for the back which are similar to the stock ones so I would think those would be what I want and they have windshield clips from 5.0 resto that I'm curious if they are any good.

if you use the correct tool , or similar, you can reuse the clips over and over. with no damage, the only reason i have ever replaced a clip was sue to rust. I remove mine occasionally to wash the dirt that builds up behind the mouldings , to prevent rust. You can the tool at Harbour frieght if you need it , comes in a set. third from left

I have the tool and I'm sure the clips can be bent back into shape but was curious if they loose the ability to hold the trim tight. The tool took getting used to. I had to grind down the tips so they were a bit sharper to grab the clips plus some of the clips were buried in the window gasket/sealer making it difficult to get behind them.

pull the clip just enough to release the moulding, and its fine, if yours arent rusted, then you should be able to bend them back .

none of them are rusted. I'll go over them to make sure they are salvageable. Thanks.
