While I was cleaning up the suspension I noticed the front brake calipers had different bolts. One side had hex head and the other had the star socket. Which is correct? Paperwork with the car showed brakes done by Ford dealer pads are correct Ford part numbers so not sure how two different bolts got there

I just messed with my brakes last weekend and I'm pretty sure the front caliper bolts on mine were star. I'll be working on them again on Friday, I can let you know for sure.

Definitely star. Drive over to my brothers to watch the bruins game tonight and I took a quick look through the rims. Not the best pic, but you can see.

I thought it was both. A hex head bolt with a torx or star in the center.

Lol, I didn't even know what the Bruins were until I bought a '04 Yamaha Atv New that was named Bruin. I had people out on the trails asking me if yamaha named my atv after the Ice Hockey team in Boston. I said I didn't think so. I looked it up on the internet and by god there was such a team. Yamaha only made that particular model for 2 years and now it just a grizzly 350. I always wondered if there was a trade mark issue there since yamaha only used that name for just those two years.

UCLA has been the bruins a lot longer than Boston has, there are a few other sports teams called the bruins also

No backer for the B's....tough loss, man. Tide and me are probably the only ones on the west coast who give a crap! And most certainly the only ones who give a crap about fox's AND the Bruins. LOL.

[93Cobra I thought it was both. A hex head bolt with a torx or star in the center.]
Ok back to the original question, now it looks like there are three different bolts. Plain hex head, round head with star socket, and now hex head with a star socket. I know there is variation with hardware on a production line. So if the hex head with a star socket is what most have then both mine are incorrect

Can we still get these from Ford?

i just went out and looked a 93 in my driveway , and it has the hex head with the torx in the middle, but if yours arent correct, I dont think anyone is gonna say anything . but im sure you could find some bolts at a junkyard.
