More HP build plan

I always have to have more HP but i hadn't come up with a build plan that would stay true to the Cobra. So far this is what i have came up with, I will have the intake extrude honed and have the heads fully ported intake & exhaust side. On the cam not sure if i will retard it a couple degrees or go with something different?? The short block i will leave it the factory the cubic inches (subject to change?). Not sure when i will start on this as I am having to much fun with it at the moment!

If you really want to stay true to the cobra I would leave the motor alone and just transplant a 347 or get another 5.0 motor (not expensive) and build that one to what you are looking for, that way in the future you can just put the stock cobra motor back in and it will truely be original. IMO

Sounds like the mods you are thinking about are not changing anything one could see. Honing the intake and having the heads ported (NC machined) will pick up more HP but think a re tune of the ECU might be needed also (Dyno time) This type of work isn't cheap however

The old Saleen race cars had this same type of work on their engines and they were reported to have picked up about 60-70 hp over the stock 5.0's used in the race series (I.E> they were cheating)

Yes if I did it this away it would look totally stock and still retain all the factory equipment. On the tuining I was looking at running a PMS and put it on the dyno here in town to get it fully tuned.

I was looking at it from the standpoint of being totally stock, yes if he uses the stock parts it looks stock but ultimately it isn't stock specs. I like your idea and a stock motor with some work done would be cool but if you ever sold it you would have to tell the owner the parts are stock but things have been done to it

Mods like this would not hurt the value. I don't see it being presented as one of those garage queen cars.
