anyone have quick access to their car that can tell me

what the O.D. of the insulation in the back is?

I've got a source to get the new convoluted tubing but not sure without measuring myself later tonight

why is everyone thinking our cars are supposed to have this ? i have pictures of cars on the dealers lot and they dont have this. it is only on the radiator hose , not the A/C. but to answer your question the the radiator hose looks to be 1 1/2, the outside of tubing looks like 1 3/4, the a/c insulation looks to be 1 3/4 .

well the big reason I want to put it on
is my insulation is split!
and I have seen several cars with it?
probably because without the insulation splits?

and the new line is $400!
so math!
$4.00 piece of 2" diameter? convoluted tubing or a new line!

just glue the tear in your insulation, then twist it around so that it is facing down and you wont see it, post up all the pictures with the tubing on the a/c that are original rom the factory. and even if all the insulation came off , you wouldnt need a new hose,

My Texas brother is being hard on me!
no the radiator one is fine
and I can try the rip, glue and roll method before buying

just thought the insulation was more fixed to the AC line to prevent rollege?

10 -4 Cobra leader!

and I think that will be
Glue, roll and rip!

21 years in the same position,
well won't know until I try right!

and then there is the backup plan!

Also split

maybe mine is a repro, but i dont know how they got it past all the bends ? oh well , thats not too big a deal, supliers could have changed? the main thing i m saying is that the a/c hose didnt come with that sleeve on it.
