Putting cats back on - tune?

Hello all,
I'm buying a 93 that has the cats removed and aftermarket mufflers. The stock stuff is coming with the car and I plan to put it back on. My knowledge base is with the newer cars (I have a Terminator and a GT500). With the newer stuff, you have to tune for removal and reinstallation of the cats. What about the 93? Can I just put them back on?
Thank you in advance.

I used to remove and replace the stock H-pipe on my '89 GT without any tuning issues. I'm guessing the '93 Cobra is no different.

Any details on the car you are buying? I recognized your username from the GT500 forums that I frequent! Welcome to the 93 club as well!

Not ready for details yet. I'll post info when it's mine. Thanks for the welcome.

Just throw the stock stuff back on. OBDI is more "forgiving" than OBDII as far as emissions control functions are concerned.

I purchased my cobra with OR h pipe installed. Mine also came with the original cats. I put the catted h pipe on, ran down to emissions about 6 miles, passed no problem, went back home and put the OR pipe back on.
My car had no issues other than loss of power!

Definitely can't do that with the newer stuff. Even after a swap and tune revision, you can't just run right down and pass emissions. It's nice the older stuff is so easy.

My Shelby is the crazy car. 750 crank hp with Borla-S and it's a lot of fun. My Terminator is all stock and will be staying that way and I want the Cobra totally stock too.

Self control.
You have a lot of it.

Much easier to do when you have a 750hp GT500 to play with.

Bolt it up and go.
Saw you and your car at Shelbyfest, nice ride. I live about 25 minutes from Herman and try to make it, sans rain.
