Congrats to Powers33 for Member of the month for November 2013! Lets get to know Chris and his mustang story
Name: Chris Powers
Age: Mid 30's
State: Charleston SC
Years within mustang/show cars hobby: since 1996 when he purchased his first mustang!
Career: Owns and Operates a General contractor firm that buys and repairs and renovates houses here in Charleston.
What other cars (currently) and or had in the past?
My current Cobra Was purchased in Charlotte NC from a member of this sight (dirtymike) . I had posted an add stating that I was looking for a teal Black and he responded. We communicated back and forth for months until we came up with a price we could both live with. BTW Great guy. Then I Drove the car Home!!!!! These cars want to be driven!!
others include: 93 GT that he owned in 1996, but it all started on his 16th birthday when my first car a 1979 Camaro z28 and Blew the engine on my birth day racing someone!
plus 5 other stangs before his pristine 93 dream teal/black cobra!
List of cars in order I owned them
93 GT Maroon with gray bottom / gray interior
90 lx vert Froest green / white top and white leather 25th anneversity
89 lx maroon/ gray interior
85 GT gray/ gray interior
92 lx Light cristal blue / Black interior ( newer should have traded this car for my next car ) it was mint
95 GT forest green/ gray interior (408 with nos)
93 Cobra Teal / Black
How do you enjoy your ride?
I have a lot of great memories of all the Stupid and crazy things that I did in my previous cars (Z28 and GT). The Z28 specifically, would fly down the highway with ( 273 Gears ) and would bury the speedometer on time and hit the pin at the bottom. all-thought it took at least 10 miles.
I was traveling down hwy 17 from Wilmington NC to Myrtle beach SC anyone who has taken that drive would know how straight it was. Anyway stupid and crazy teenage stuff. Since then I have had 5 more mustangs and Now My dream car 93 Cobra.
1993 car info:
One of 185 produced! #1758 Teal/ Black combo, no roof , 36k original miles. The car is mostly stock except some gauges in the center vent, a new radiator, sub-frames, and a pro 5.0 shifter.
This is my first so called show car and I am so torn on what to do with it because I want it faster, But being A Teal / Black combo with 36 K makes it rare enough not to want to mod anything that I can't undo. I think I will buy another one I can go crazy on next year. God willing
What would be your next car to add to the stable?
Another 93 cobra to modify
Shout-out to members:
I want to thank Brian Decoy and all the other members who posted details about their cars and helped me find this one, for all the detailed help he gave me on the details of this purchase. The car is Not stock anymore. I have already added a pro 5.0 shifter, full length headers, h-pipe and flowmaster catback. Probably a kenne bell to come next.
