Aren't the '93 Cobra tailpipes different from LX 5.0 Mustangs...as the hangers are longer on the Cobra tailpipes to clear the Cobra specific rear fascia?

I thought they were the same. learn something new every day. I'm sure they were from an LX. I got them with a bunch of parts i purchased. If the pipes are the same, can't the hangers be modified?

You can modify or use a longer rubber bushing.

Where can you get the longer rubber isolators?

Most part stores have them, or check a local muffler shop for some. The part stores may be able to order some also, depending on there suppler they get parts from.

Good to know! So if you were going to put an aftermarket cat-back kit (Flowmasters, etc.) on a '93 Cobra you could just use these longer isolators instead of lengthening the hangers on a LX cat-back kit...allowing adequate clearance between the tailpipes and the Cobra specific rear fascia?

Yea just makes up for the hanging height difference between hangers.

Autozone sells a longer hanger, but I am not a big fan of them, kind of cheap, I always go to my local muffler shop, and buy a set of longer hangers, and cut them to length when I use the LRS 2 1/2 inch tail pipes. I just wish one day dynomax would make some that actually fit the 93 Cobra.

So you just cut off the hangers that are already on the LRS 2 1/2 inch tail pipes and TIG new, longer ones on in the same place? Do you have a part number/name brand for the longer hangers?


Also, does anyone have a YouTube vid of their car with OE headers, OE mid-pipe, and a Flowmaster 2-chamber cat-back kit? I can't seem to find any vids of a stock '93 Cobra with just the Flowmaster cat-back.
