whats the difference between those and the ones you can get from NPD? besides the fact the ones at NPD are 1/3 the price.
For that kind of money, you could replace the whole carpet!!
I don't understand the high price for a floor mat!
would someone educate me?

You see this with a lot of NOS and OEM parts (e.g. stock H-pipe w/cats, date-coded spark plug wires, seats & other interior trim, wheels). Some owners only want original parts and pay good $$ for them.

ok... but whats the difference? if you turn the mat over, does it say NOS on it? how can you tell, if I bought a set from NPD, said that they were NOS, how would you know to call BS?
If it looks the same, functions the same... is it not the SAME?

i think the repros have a little different shape , but if your not showing it , they will look ok and most wont know the difference.

X2. Also, all authentic OEM/NOS parts will have Ford part numbers somewhere on them. Authentic Cobra mats have the Ford part number stamped on the back side of the mats. There's probably a pic of this somewhere on this site.

People pay extra because the real Ford parts are the proper color, fit the way they're supposed to, etc. The same cannot be said for many aftermarket replacement parts. Also, if a seller claims they're selling OEM/NOS parts but will not show pics of the stamped Ford part #s on them, I would not buy.

ive purchased items from 5.0 resto that have the original Ford part numbers molded into the plastic, but are not NOS. The use the original Ford tooling.

I have my original floor mats that are in great shape but I just purchased a set from 5.0 resto and they are pretty nice. Like someone previously mentioned, they are slightly different sizes & not really noticeable. I only paid $97 total with shipping & taxes and it should be noted that the new set came with rear mats as well. I'm not sure if Cobras came with rear mats from the factory cuz my car did not have them when I bought it. I only replaced them just to save the originals.

Goose, I'm contemplating doing the exact same thing you did. I've still got my originals that are in great shape and really don't wanna use them/wear them out before their time. Do you (or anyone else) have some side-by-side comparison shots of the reproduction mats and the OE Ford mats to see the differences?
