Cobra intake sticker

Post by JohnLynch »

Are these legit? Says no ford box, so just wondering if they are made in China.

I will be honest man, I have compared an NOS beside a repo, and it is almost impossible to tell them apart.

There are a lot of Chinese pieces being sold on eBay as NOS. Some of them are laughably bad, others are close. If it is not in a sealed Ford or Motorcraft package that is aged, use caution. I saw one guy selling the fender snakes as NOS and the plastic bags were obviously new, and the printing was copied well enough except that there was a fairly obvious mistake in the small print. Then I looked closer and realized that both snakes faced the same way... :pissed:

Just use common sense and any time it is an unpackaged part that is without Ford stamping, etc, question the origin. The Chinese are downright parasitic in how they trample over things like copyrights and patents. Too much fake stuff out there.

^ yea I agree I bought the one I posted he said it is made by ford motorcraft but its coming in a clear baggy and a ford motorcraft catolog. What are people doing sending a contact in china an order for reproduction foxbody parts buying them dirt cheap and selling them for $50??

I guess. You can have just about anything fabbed in China fairly cheap, and the parasites that sell that stuff as NOS are deserving of a good beating, if you ask me.

I just got it in the mail, it came in a clear bag. With no ford motorcraft catalog. It looks fine but I bet its a knockoff. If ford motorcraft made it then maybe he buys them in bulk idk.

John, A lot of the Ford Tooling parts are being made in China, I know D.C parts are made there, he is buying a lot of the Ford Tooling. And sending it to china and having parts made.

He just finished up the Ford Tooling Coil Covers, they Are much Heavier than the NOS, should last longer. But made in a gloss plastic versus the Flat Color plastic, so it wont pass for a NOS Ford Piece.

As for this Cobra Intake plaque, the Aftermarket one is actually real nice, I have bought quite a few, and they are very hard to tell apart.

I think that is a good thing, as long as your not paying a premium price for the part, and not being misled about what it is.

It makes it easier to restore them, and cheaper.
