1993 Cobra Registry

Looks like Fordfest is June 24th. I normally take my F100. Last year, I won a runner up trophy with it. Then in '05 I broke my Dana 60 in half!

This year we'll be taking the Cobra and seeing what she runs. Doubt I'll win anything this year.... there are some wicked nice fox's there.

I lost in the finals of the 5.0 Shootout with my cobra last year at Fordfest. Picked a real bad time to have the crappiest light in the 15 years I have been racing. But I lost to a good friend of mine so it's all good.

I'll be racing the cobra in the 5.0 shootout again and the 92 GT in Max Street!

black93svt, what does your Mustang(s) run? What are done to them?

Well, my cobra ran 14.6's last year with the automatic. (For those of you at sea level if it sounds slow remember this is at 6000 feet). Basically it had Twisted Wedge heads, an E-303 cam and 3.73's. This year with the 5-speed back in it I'm hoping to break into the 13's with NA then in the 12's with my Paxton Novi 1000 that I'll be putting on sometime this summer.

The 92 has a little more done to it. 347, TFS Hi-Ports, TFS R intake, C4 with tranny brake and a 4000 stall with 4:30's last year ran 12.00 all motor. This year I put better shocks on it, better tires and soon to have 4:56's and were hoping for 11's all motor and deep in the 10's with a 200 shot.

If your cobra is pretty much all stock you'll be looking at somewhere between 15.0 and 15.10's. That's what my bone stock one ran a few years ago. I got it down to a 14.75 with 3:55's and drag radials the next year.

Why in the world did you swap an auto into your Cobra in the first place??

I was hoping for a little more than 15's with this car! Shoot, my 4000lb truck ran 15.9 at Bandi last year! And my car is a lot faster it seems.

Where do all of your take-off parts go?? I need to get with you about some used stuff, like some 3:55's, CAI, etc.....

I bought the car with the automatic in it. Previous owner raced is quite a bit. I'm not sure why someone would do that but oh well. It's getting the 5 speed back in like it should be.

What would your cars run if you did not race at such a high altitude? What did the 93's run stock?

I read 14.3 in 1993. From what I hear most stuff is 1 sec slower up here than down there.

I ran my cobra at World Ford Challenge last year. It went a 13.29 there and can only muster 14.6 out of it here. This altitude kills us!!

It must, I know will little mods that they can hit the 13's, but high altitude will kill you in any car.

hey guys, Fordfest came and went. Good times as usual. I placed runner up in the car show out of 15 or so foxes in the 74-93 catagory. And got a nice trophy of course.

Then made it to 2nd round racing where I put out by a blink of an eye but ran a best time of 15.4 @ 91MPH @ 6000ft. 2.3 60ft times, .037 light. There is no way I can hit 14's without tires. I tried launching hard in practice and ran a 16.7, all wheelspin through 1st and 2nd. So my 15.4 was rolling on the gas.

102 degree weather in Denver, and I had to wear long pants There were two other 93 Cobras there, a almost twin teal to mine then a black with 200k on it!
