New owner of the car...

Post by GTJay99 »

Well guys, I am the guy that decided to purcahse this car. It actually isn't a bad car at all. Everything is there except for as you guys discussed the right fender was redone. All other tags seem to be there that I can find. As far as the mileage, I had asked him the same thing and the autocheck is right. "Supposedly" one of the owners before the guy I purchased it from had taken the original motor out and put another one in so he can put on some bolt ons and cam, Etc. And when he sold it they put the original back in. Maybe true, Maybe BS. So thats why he stated 75,000miles. Cause that's what the motor should have. But i can't even say that is true. But I can say that the car is solid with two minor blisters under the hatch. And Minor stuff from the "Flower Pot Incident". Just tryin to figure out how he hit it cause the bumper is still original. Not realy much damage I can find. Nothing is really buckeled at all. Just the radiator core lip has a lil rollback on the side. But it is not bent or deformed at all. But the car drives straight as an arrow and is tight. Motor runs like it may have 75,000, with no smoke or hesitation under throttle. Seems like all I gotta do is a few Minor things and the car will be an excellent clean car. Build number is bogus on the core. Still not sure if it has any meaning at all cause I know it is not #37. I hope to have a new certificate in a few weeks from SVT.

If it makes you feel any better I think you did OK at $9200..My experience has been that these cars bottom out pretty high..as long as they run and drive decent and aren't beat to death..Looks like a decent car even if it does have miles on it.

And the car is infact #1184 and built 4-1-93 to clear it up. Just spoke with SVT and should get the certificate in 2 weeks or so... So where that "37" came from. I have no clue...

Lol.... I knew it was in that range. Just not #37. The guy I bought it from really didn't know anything except for "What he was told". So I just had to weed out the false and go by the facts I knew from research. I do give you props tho...

Yup its time to upgrade. I never get to drive this one. Since I had it I only put around 3000 Miles on it. This car is a driver and should be driven. Plus I have been building a Notchback for 4 years now and want it done. I wanna get another cobra but with less miles since I don't get the time to drive it. This car is nice tho. After I first got it I went thru it and cleaned it up and this car Looks great. I have seen High mile cobras and this one looks great still. Plus I dont want to modify a Teal black car. I would feel better doin it to one with gray int. Lol. Cars just to nice to tamper with. Anyone interested PM me and I will be gladly to talk. The guy I bought from was an ass and had no idea what he had and was trying to sugar coat it. I had to see thru all his BS when I bought it

Still surprised it hasn't sold yet?
If, I were a bachelor and didn't have worry about what the other half would say. I'd be crazy enough to have two of these in the garage. Having a hard enough time getting across to her that a blk one is coming one day.

Last two guys were all over it but were big talkers with no cash. Only reason why I relisted it guy bid but wasn't even approved. I had two offers around 8500 but they couldn't swing the cash in time. If it don't sell its gonna get a fresh built motor and make some real power.
