For what the car is, re-paint doesn't bother me, now, if you talking a 11K mile car, or a 50K mile car that is supposed to be mint, and asking top dollar, it should be wearing all it's original paint.

If I was doing a mod fox, this car would be a bonus, it already has nice fresh and good looking paint job, and would be advertised as such.
Agree with Aaron, mine has been re-painted and won some awards with it, and Aaron knows the guy who painted my cobra. I think we forget our cars are 20 years old and time will catch up with them sooner or later. I just went on ahead and got mine painted before it started to show her age.

A nice repaint doesn't bother me, just made that statement cause a fellow members hood was cracking , I said get it painted and everyone else jumped him, said it would ruin it!

If I recall, the fellow member was thinking of painting the hood only. IMO a quality re-paint of the whole car (if not a very low mile car or mint condition original) is worthwhile, not painting section by section.

The car in question is a 46K mile car in Really excellent shape, When I sold it two years ago, the hood was PERFECT!, it had been inside ever sense I sold it, so I can't imagine it being that bad, now I did talk with the member, he said it had some scratches in the hood from after I sold it, and he tried to touch them up, they did not turn out great after the touch up, so I'm thinking he may have jacked the hood trying to touch it up. In this case, I wold say paint the hood, it has already been touched up, and now looks way worse

I knew there had to be more to it, than just some light checking in the hood, cause two years ago, the hood was Flawless! That is why he got so much flack from me, but after some PM's back and fourth, I found out there was more to the story than just some light Checking in the hood.

This is my car with the hood issue, the car may have been perfect two years ago but when I got it a few weeks ago it was not. The guy I got it from is a great guy, he used the car it did not just sit in his garage. He drove around 4,000 miles when he had it and even took it to the drag strip. He also so live at the end of a dirt road, and that may be where all the rock chips came from on the hood. Biggest problem with the hood was the two long stracthes across the hood that look like rocks got caught in the car cover and when it was take off it scracthed the hood very deep. I did try to wet sand the scratches and touch them up but it didn't turn out the way I wanted. The hood looks better painted and matches the rest of the exterior. I think that a car with a repaint that is nice is better than a car with a hood that has checking and scratches like miine did. I know some buy these cars from there possable value later, I bought mine because I have wanted one from the first time I saw one in high school. Life is to short to sit and just to sit and look at a car, and when you drive them things are going to happen and fixing those things can be as much fun as driving them.
