WTB 93 Teal Cobra

Post by absvtford »

Looking for a 93 Teal Cobra with low miles (preferably under 30K). Would prefer sunroof option.

I am located in NY but am willing to fly/drive to see the car with cash/bank certified check in hand if the car is right. I am not a low baller or tire kicker, I just would like to find the right car.

I would also entertain a Vibrant Red as well, depending on the options and mileage.

Thanks

Welcome, and teal is the nicest/rarest color, I have owned all three and I hadn't owned a teal/ seen one in person since a couple of years ago. I always thought it didn't look good in the pictures. Go see a teal in person, looks much better!

Thanks for the welcome!

I have seen a handful of the Teal cars in person before. Love the color. I am a fan of blue - used to have a 98 Bright Atlantic Blue Cobra.

I actually flew down to go see the 93 Teal #3625 that was on eBay about a week and a half ago. The car was nice, but not nice enough for me. Had a rust spot on the Driver Side kick panel, caked brake dust on the wheels. The inside of the car was dirty as hell when he showed me the car. And of course, the picture of the motor and comments were quite accurate. The car was not pampered by any means. I just didn't understand why this guy considered it his baby but didn't take care of/clean the car (especially when he was trying to sell it). I made a deal with the guy and he ended up selling to someone else, didn't even call me to let me know. I booked a trailer and all from U-Haul and was supposed to drive down this weekend. Guess it wasn't meant to be.

Hard to find these cars. In your experience, what should these low mileage stock 93 cobras go for if they are in mint condition. I know it's all relative on what someone is willing to pay, but what would you guys NOT be willing to pay?

yeah funny he told me someone was flying down there and that is was probably sold. I called him to ask why the highest bid was removed and back to $17.4k after hitting the reserve at $18k and he said he didn't know. I will post your findings under the car. As for pricing it really depends on each car feel free to run them buy us as you find them and we can steer you in the right direction. Some have caught great deals while others who are impatient overpay. It really boils down to watching the market and finding out what the cars sell for not the listing price. Do you have an idea what that teal in Charlestown sold for?

Not sure...the morning I flew down I saw the bid go up. I asked him what the bid was at, and he said $18K...we agreed on a price - that night I went back to my hotel and saw the bid went back down to 17,250...didn't seem right...

He said someone local in NC area was giving him around 20K.

Wanted your thoughts gentleman.

Currently looking at a 93 Teal/Gray Cloth low option car (No Sunroof). Car has less than 10K miles on it. Guy wants $27K.

Other car is a 93 VR/Leather (No Sunroof). Car has less than 10k miles on it. Guy would take $22K.

Thoughts?

The teal is mine and I know I'm a little high on it but I hate to part with it. You are the third person this week to call about it so maybe there past 20 years old and fixing to go crazy and I'd regret it down the road. I searched for a while back when I was looking for a teal gray cloth car.

I hear you Speedfreek.

They are both good looking cars.

I have cash in hand, but you are a little above my budget, especially if I have to get the car back to where I live. Would not want to drive it back, not in the middle of the winter! :)

IMO the rarer options affects the price in this situation, you will always see a bunch of red/leather cars not so many teal/cloth cars. I know if I was to sell my 2k mile black/black cloth car I would be asking north of where speed is at.

Best of luck on your search Al. This search is the culmination of when we were just kids on bikes trying to chase down all the cool stangs in the neighborhood just to talk to the owner..
