That car was for sale several times on Ebay, and a few other places as well. Guy has a dealar license, called his business Showdown or something like that. You can see the lettering in the back glass, as well as the plate frame.

The car was OK, but really not as clean as some of these pics make it to be from what I recall.

I offered him 14500 for it a week before I bought my current one. He declined said it would bring 16k at the spring auction. I guess he was wrong.

The leather seats in the car made it look to have 100k plus miles!

maybe its just me but i dont see the risk of 1500 bucks that it MIGHT bring and of course it didnt ...i would have sold it cause im sure he still had to pay auction fees and what not

Yep, and Mecum fees aren't cheap, not to mention the hassle of getting the car to the auction.

I would say someone just wanted to waste a little money on this one! Since there are many nicer one popping up for sale here lately!

I have watched a lot of Mecum actions and generally before the car rolls out the seller and buyer have to pay $2,500 unless it's an early car that wont bring that much. Sometimes they work it out on the block where the commission will be lowered if the seller will lower the reserve. Not sure where this cars fits into that equation but I thought $14.250 was a little high, the interior did look really worn.
