New to site

Post by #1330 »

Hi everybody, I'm new to the site and also a new Cobra owner (since 2 weeks ago). My car has 51K original miles and I need to replace the tires. I was wondering if anybody could suggest a good tire for summer use only. I don't want to spend $200+ per tire because they will dry rot before they wear out since I only plan on putting 1000 miles per year on them. I have been thinking about the Kumho Ecsta, BFG G-force or Toyo Proxes. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I had the Kumhos on mine and I liked them.

I have heard great about all your choices. I chose to go with Eagle F1's.

The F1's are great for grip. I have not had any traction issue's. But I have not had to many mods added.

I did take it to the track, and the traction was excellent. On the street it is very good. I used to be able to light up the original tires at will. But we these they just grab and go!!!!!

By the way, the only mods I have is K@N panel filter, Magnaflow catback, and a chip. The best I ran out at the track was 14.3@98 and I let off the last 75 foot. I was racing a civic and caught up to fast so I let off. It is probably a 14 flat car right now.

F1's are THE Best all around radial one will purchase. F1 GSD3's are rated as 9 out of 10 dry traction and 10 out of 10 wet traction. They are legitimate for a good 110 to 120 mph in a torrential rain storm on two lane backroads in Western Kentucky. Of course, a friend told me this. Dry traction? Bury the speedometer on 140mph and hold the wheel with one hand with a camera in the other. Of course, a friend told me this, too. Excellent 245/45ZR17 rubber.
