you would love it black93, when I had it the motor ran really strong for a 119k car, plus it has always ran on royal purple and had NO leaks, not from the engine, rear main. After the accident the car sat in my garage for about a week or 2 with still not a leak. Like aaron I am a little bias too

aaronlstiles wrote:Thanks for all the Compliments Guys, Title is clean, never branded, accident did not even show on carfax, I ran it again today. I am also posting some completed pictures, minus wheels, I still have not got tires mounted yet, should have that done this weekend, then will post up some of outside with new wheels, and Gatorbacks. The Fresh wheels, are in the pictures.
That is awesome. I am not sure how that happened since they paid it off but that is cool.

I am working on a purchase right now with an unrelated car but if that falls through, I am going to give you a call Mr. Stiles... Can you add temp cruise control so the drive from Utah to Michigan won't be as painful

And I believe since it wasn't deemed nonfixable it just cost more to fix it than it was worth to the insurance company, since I already owned it they just cut me a check, then I bought it back, the title never changed hands and dmv didn't get involved

I didn't even factor you owning outright into the equation, I haven't had that situation happen to me before where I own something that they pay out on.

i bought a wrecked firehawk with good title from insurance co. 6 months later they mail a letter saying i need to mail them the title and they will issue me a salvage certificate, and it showed up on carfax. i just ignored the letter and kept the original title.

Wouldn't you think that is something the insurance company would have told me at the time? I'm not sure exactly how it works I've never dealt with this situation before, and nothing from dmv for me or aaron about it

This is totally different situation, you bought it from the insurance company, Just like at any wreck sale they are sold through the insurance company, then they are branded.

This car was never sold at any sale nor did the insurance company ask him for the original title. He sold it to me with clean original title. It is already in my name.

i hear ya, i already had this one in my name, thats why i just kept the title, and not send it back. this was state farm, also had a aunt who was in a accident and state farm fixed her car and gave her salvaged title. But ith the cobra being over 10 years , i doubt they were worried about it .

How did they fix her car and give her a salvage title?? that is illegal, if they fixed it, that means it was not bad enought to salvage. Now if she refused repairs after it was fixed, and she bought it back, then they would salvage it. I have been in the business for a long time, have lots of Friends that are insurance adjusters, and they don't fix cars just to salvage them.

salvage means it cost more to fix than it is worth, why Fix then salvage, she needs to look into that.

Aaron when my insurance company came out to look at my car they said it was totalled, I tried to buy it back and they said I couldn't because they were sending it to the auction??? Were they allowed to do that? I thought it was shady. Anyways here is my vin not sure if anyone here can run it and see what it says or where it is 1FACP42D5PF137030
Thanks

Nope , by law you have First refusal to buy it back, Only thing I have seen is one in CA, has a previous theft, and they took the vin off the dash, and he was unable to buy it back because of that. A lot of Insurance companies try to pull that, but once you say no, I want it back I will talk to an attourney, they change their story fast!

Looks like it has bee titled in TN, with a salvage title, back in 09, so either it was parted, or it is still being fixed.

That sucks, now I know thanks. He said they would only give me top dollar for it if I didnt want to buy it back, then when I asked they said I couldnt do it. I bet they parted it out by now if no one fixed it, I hit black ice on an overpass and the back tires just came out from under me scary as hell hit two guardrails and stopped facing oncoming traffic had to exit quick and jump down a rivine.....I really wanted to fix it it was so clean.

Does the A/C work on the Cobra? Any idea of what shipping to MI may be? I have never shipped before.

Thanks!
