Lambo, The hatch on this car is not the original, it has an R-dot Vin sticker clearly viisable in your hatch picture, the quarter panel I think has also been replaced, looking at the Hatch jam, I see NO Spot welds in the jam like the driver's side. I think the car is nice, bu you can also see inside the pass tail pipe, the original tip, but the driver side does not have it. I assume it was hit and the tail pipes where damaged. As for the urethane on the glass, Ford DID NOT use urethane in 93, they used old type butel cord on the rear glass.TTlambo wrote:Hi,
I am the one handling the sale of this car and I’m going clear up the confusion!
The guy that had the car listed on craigslist is also a friend of the owner, he owns a small car dealership, (2k-4k) type of cars and not his type of clientele. He knew nothing about these cars and wasn’t really trying to sell it, he was just trying to help him out. The car has been just sitting in the back corner of his building for over a year I think. Now about the owner of the car, he is retired and although looking to sell it he is not desperate for money, so these ridiculous comments of the car being worth 13k-14k are crazy!
This car looks amazing and 99% of people out there would never even know that there were repairs done as it looks great and you can see from the pictures!
I must say I have never seen minor paint and body repair get so blown out of proportion! I guarantee you that other cars on this forum have had parts either repaired or repainted and not even told anyone. I know we are all car enthusiasts here and knowledgeable in our own rights but before any keyboard warriors start attacking my judgment and knowledge of repair don’t bother. I have restored plenty of show quality cars over the past 20 years and also owned a paint and bodyshop. I have also have owned over 20+ mustangs and currently own exotics and many other high-end cars Vipers, GTR’s, Shelby’s, etc. Just letting you guys know I’m not some backwoods dumb ass that doesn’t know what he is talking about.
Now about the repairs –
This car has all OEM parts and all are original! The only thing I can’t say for 100% certainty is the bumper cover, if hit I would assume it would have been replaced but no one can say for sure as it is an OEM part? Remember, these cars have stickers for vin.s on the parts and when painted they are either removed or just painted over. This happens all the time and everyone here knows this, so when asking where is this sticker where is that sticker you have your answer, it has paint work done!
How do I know the hatch and the quarters are all original? It’s simple, I looked at it them.
Now granted, the hatches can be trickier to know if replaced but when I had my installer replace the back glass (do to hard water spots and scuffs from the louvers) the original urethane and glass had overspray on them under the molding. Anyone familiar with body and paint knows that the panel has to be painted first before the glass can be installed! The only uncertainty on this car is the bumper cover and if replaced it is OEM and looks great!
Just wanted to clear the air, set the facts straight, and let you guys know that it is a clean car with very minor repair. This is not a 25K-30k mint car but a very affordable driver if you wish, also being one of the last build numbers #4991, it is a bonus!
Thanks for your time and if you have any other questions about the car or need other photos please feel free to call me @ 407-227-9533 or email @ ttaspeedracer@hotmail.com
Now if I an incorrect about any of my observations, please feel free to post up some new pictures of those areas, there is also Teal paint on the gas tank cover. Not a lot but some. You clearly can not compare this car to a MINT undamaged teal car, I stick to my original price of 13k to 14K. The car looks very nice, but has had quite a bit of extensive work. If you sell high dollar cars you know just how bad body and paint work hurts collector cars, again, I think it is a nice car, but I'd pay no more than 14K for it.

Never said anywhere MINT? I have been overly describing these ridiculous repairs. This is not a 300k car so forgive me if this stuff seems petty to me.aaronlstiles wrote:Lambo, The hatch on this car is not the original, it has an R-dot Vin sticker clearly viisable in your hatch picture, the quarter panel I think has also been replaced, looking at the Hatch jam, I see NO Spot welds in the jam like the driver's side. When ford had a car come into the dealership and a vin was removed they had to replace with an (R) because a dealership can not print off vin.#'s period. (R) meaning repair or replacement. This was also needed for theft reasons since mustang parts were stolen constantly and the stickers removed. Now, I would not argue that the hatch was or was not replaced because no one but the body guy back in 94 could tell you this! The reason I say this was the original is do to the overspray which I explained clearly earlier. (Yes, on earlier mustangs crappy butel was used). Also, paint and body only increases the value of collector cars it's called restoration especially when done properly, ask anyone that has spent 50-100k on one! As far as the left tip goes I looked at it and it was cut inside of it maybe easier to side on the $10 tip who know for certain but it looks fresh(the cut). To me it looks like the tips were added when the new mufflers were installed but you can debate this in 100 different ways blaming an accident, but again petty. The fact is this is a nice car and this pettiness is ridiculous. No point in being inspector gadget on this car, it was repaired(not extensively either but that's a matter of opinion) and looks good simple as that!
13-14k will not by the car either so for anyone hoping for that price don't bother, just being honest. Just so the board members know $17k is the number really wanted and maybe slightly less will take it. Its a very reasonable price. In the grand scheme of things a couple thousand doesn't matter if you want something (my motto anyway) and these cars will only increase as time goes on, not that I need to say that on this board you guys now what you have and they are awesome cars! Anyway, thanks for the interest.
If I were looking to drop this kinda dough on a car as an investment it should not have any signs of an accident especially autozone exhaust tips just my 2 cents. Glws thanks for stopping by....
