Upper Door Paint

Anyone know the correct code for the upper door paint? Hard for me to tell if it's straight black or really dark grey.

J, I'm not aware of any paint code for the black trim. I have used dupli-color black trim paint on my old 92 fox. I don't have any pics, but I was pleased with the results, and recommend this product.

Funny that's the same paint I use on my mirrors. Lays down nice for sure and holds up well. I was worried it might look a little flat. The inside of the doors look like they have a bit more shine but might be from rubbing on the seal.

I believe the SEM paint for trim comes in a flat look or a slight gloss also. Might check with your local paint shop to see what they offer.

X2 for SEM 'Trim Black'. Part # 39143 in a spray can.

thats correct! ^^^^ factory correct ( i would get the slight gloss for the door).

Yep used this on my notch resto came out great perfect match, painted the mirrors and door/window trim..

Based on these posts, I guess Ford used different upper door paint for the red and black cars. Haven't been up close to a teal in years so I don't recall what's on them. The black Cobras do not have black upper door paint. Can anyone post pics for the red and teal to show for sure what's on them?

Interesting. I'll check the teal and see. I always thought they were a really dark grey.

C'mon, owners of teal and red Cobras with original paint. Open those doors and snap a pic or two. Let's solve the mystery as to what upper door paint came on your cars. Is it dark gray like my pics? Or is the upper door paint different on the teals and reds?
