Yea, take a picture of the door vin sticker, lets make sure it a "DJ" (black interior) car.
Also, take some pictures of the underneath and some better pictures of the exterior of the car, showing the vin stickers, molding, etc..

DB will buy it for $13.5k sell it to DB.
No offense but thats 164k mile car, signs are all over including the interior.
Just keep it man.
engine shot kind of shows high milage signs... and repaint.. and seats... but for a nice driver you cant go wrong. Just make sure its a true "DJ" interior... if someone swapped out from grey to black thats just crazy for a true cobra.

For completeness - the knee-bolster seats were standard equipment in 87-91 GTs and standard equipment in 90-91 LX 5.0L models. All V8 model Mustangs in '92 and '93 (except the '93 Cobra R) had non-knee bolster articulated sport seats.BrettT wrote:The front seats in your car have the Knee-Bolster, those seats were in the '90-91 mustang's.93_Teal_Cobra wrote:What are the right seats for this car?
The correct seats for the '93 cobra are the NON-Knee bolster seats and were in the '92 mustangs also.
Here's a pic of the correct seat

I bet that it's a true DJ interior. All of the components in the interior pics (dash, door trim, center console, carpet, plastic trim in hatch, rear seats, etc., etc.) are black. I doubt someone went to the considerable expense to change over from a opal gray interior in that car.dbrennancobra wrote: Just make sure its a true "DJ" interior... if someone swapped out from grey to black thats just crazy for a true cobra.
I agree with John. Those seats were changed to cover up the worn-out originals.

Most of your interior looks original (with the exception of what was already pointed out). One other thing - the console piece surrounding your shifter is not original.93_Teal_Cobra wrote:Looks like I should have spent a month on here asking questions well before now... especially before selling. Now I'm starting to question a lot about this car. I wonder if it is the original interior altogether...
Also, I'm guessing the steering wheel rim cover is there because the original leather is in bad shape? (Another sign of a higher-mileage car.)

Re: Teal-Black-Sunroof #4499 $13.5
One of the first things you should do to make your engine bay look more original - you need to adjust the location of your A/C compressor hose. It's too low behind the upper intake and where it goes around the intake towards the compressor. When I first looked at the engine pic, I thought your car was modified to remove the A/C rather than having a rebuilt A/C system.93_Teal_Cobra wrote:Will do. Hey Thanks for the information. If I keep the car, and it looks like I'm probably going to have to, I plan to restore it to as close to original as possible.

Agreed on keeping it as a nice driver, especially since it had 64K or 164K when purchased 10 years ago. If my math is right that means its possibly pushing 180K today.

Re: Teal-Black-Sunroof #4499 $13.5
I Did some research of the codes thanks to info here on the registry and my car is actually a 'D6' interior code, Gray cloth. I did find dates on the seat belts and they show 5/93 at the end of the belts (they are black belts). Not sure if there are date codes on the seats or not...? I plan to find out this weekend. I trust you guys about the knee bolsters, I just never knew enough about it to question those details, especially the interior color. I can't imagine why someone would want to go to all that trouble, I'm just going to have to agree with you all that the original seats must have been really rough. So, somewhere along the line it was converted to black interior. At any rate, thank you all for the great advice and information. I'm still trying to determine what I should do, my first instinct is to restore the car back to it's original state and convert it back to gray cloth. If the car won't sell in it's current state, I believe that is my next step. Again, thank you all for your advice.
