93 Cobra R rims.

Post by POOBLAH »

How much should I expect to pay If I wanted to put 93 Cobra Rs on my cobra instead of the stock 93 Cobra rims?

You can make your own using 94 3 spoke rims! But you gotta do the 5 lug conversion, which is like $400 for the kit in LRS.

Probably $600 total at the least?

Yes, but I believe those were 5 lug on ebay. I guess my next question is were the cobra R in 1993 5 lug? I would prefer to purchase a real for OEM set if possible. That way it is not 'technically' stock but still 100% NOS. Thanks for all the help so far! :D

yes the 93 "R" was a 5 lug , the 94 up GT wheel is the exact same wheel just painted black with a shinny lip. and a chrome 91- 93 pony cap. So the wheels on Ebay are "technically correct"

Hmmm, well that kinda stops me in my tracks. Do you think converting a 93 cobra to 5 lug to have 93 cobra R's on would help or hurt the value? I am trying to restore mine to original stock, but did get this wild hair on the wheels.

I personally would not go throught the trouble and expense to convert to 5 lug, But as long as you keep all your parts , it is something you can reverse.

Not sure if you're still considering upgrading to 93 Cobra R wheels, but if you are. Here's a nice looking set of replica or recreations or whatever.

If you're going to do a 5 lug swap another wheel that looks natural (at least to me) is the 10th anniversary wheel.

But I'm still partial to the beautiful 4 lug 93 Cobra wheels.
