Working lights will be tough, both of mine went out when the car was less than 2 months old. Replaced under warranty by the dealer, new ones lasted another 3-4 months, one still flickers occasionally.
I did take a red one apart, by cutting the stitching, to find out what goes wrong, and fixed it. There is a very weak spring in there that makes the contact when the flap is opened. Pull that spring apart a little, and it's stronger and makes a firm contact. Had an upholstery shop re-stitch the visor, and all is well in my driver LX, not that I ever use lighted vanity mirrors. I mean who am I, John Edwards?
